J came yesterday for a mini-session. We met up in June at Faust Park when he turned 2… only it was a bajillion degrees out, even in the morning hours. So we just went ahead and scheduled a studio session too. Only, who would have figured in the middle of the day at the end of July it would barely be 80 degrees! O’well, any excuse to play with J (and mommy!!) is fine by me!

Another super fun high school senior session today! H is one of the most bubbly, friendly, adorable girls I’ve ever met… with such a gorgeous & contagious smile. She’s a dancer (like I was many many moons ago) and so we had a few giggles about poses and how we both naturally fell into those dance patterns. She brought her mom along too, and I hope my own daughters and I have relationships like theirs… and I totally am expecting to become BFFs on Facebook with mom! Hehe!
But on with the sneak peek! Did I mention H was gorgeous?! Because I might have freaked her out a bit with the amount of times I told her so! Thanks so much to H & K for coming today… and venturing into my jungle backyard!

Oh, how I love this family! So when they contacted me about shooting them ALL, I was excited! And nervous because posing large groups and adults, not my strong suit! But the excitement won over since I knew we’d have a fun time… because I love this family! And the nervousness flew right out the window because Dad had all the posing and grouping completely organized and under control.

So one of the great things about teaming up with Jodie in Fresh Art, is that we can bounce off crazy ideas to each other… and push each other creatively.
So when Jodie said, “Let’s take a baby to the ghetto!” it really didn’t even cause me to pause before saying, “yes!”
And so we did just that today!

I met with A a little while back to capture some senior portraits. Guys are much different to shoot than girls, but A did great and I showed my true dorky self the entire time. Hope you are enjoying your summer in Chicago and enjoy this sneak peek before your gallery is ready!
So I’ve gotten a few people asking if I’m still taking family & child portraits… ABSOLUTELY! I have simply moved my maternity & newborn work to Fresh Art, so I can focus Kim Weiss Photography on children, families, and high school seniors.
I am so excited to see the response Jodie & I have gotten since starting Fresh Art! And I’m just as excited to move forward with a new focus for Kim Weiss Photography! I have changed a few things with my pricing… no real increases, just making it simpler! Despite it being only July, now is definitely the time to start thinking about family holiday portraits and getting on the schedule!
And, can I just say, I am finding it hard to believe it’s already JULY! This week, Bill has taken off and we have been enjoying a “staycation”… just home. together. low key. And next week we are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! And still crazy in love! So I’ll still be a bit scarce, but will return to share more images of upcoming sessions.
